Andrew Zimmermann
Andrew is a passionate generalist with over 20 years of experience leading projects and teams across design, construction, and development. A committed urbanist and avid traveler, he has lived in cities across the U.S., with additional time spent in Europe and Asia. This global perspective is now grounded in Boston and New England, where he grew up and now raises his children with co-founder Jordan.
Andrew believes that diverse experiences and perspectives are essential to creativity and strong design. After earning a graduate degree and working in corporate architecture and master planning with global firm NBBJ, he transitioned to real estate development in 2016 to gain a deeper understanding of investment and project delivery. At RCG LLC, Andrew led large-scale capital projects in the housing and mixed-use sectors and contributed to acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and marketing. Over his tenure, he played a key role in planning, permitting, designing, and delivering over 300 housing units in the Boston and North Carolina markets.
Yellowdoor, founded in 2014 when Andrew became a registered architect in Massachusetts, has grown alongside his and Jordan’s evolving careers. Today, as cities everywhere face increasing challenges—from regulatory hurdles to neighbor resistance and economic constraints—Yellowdoor is positioned to meet those needs with creativity, insight, and a deeply informed approach.
